Tracy
Kash Thomas w/ Luke Sayers - CD Release Concert for "Sound Truth"

Tracy Kash Thomas is pleased to celebrate her brand new CD "Sound
Truth" with a special show at Trinity House Theatre.
She began her musical life as a classical musician. Armed with a
Bachelor’s degree from University of North Texas – a veritable jazz
factory producing musicians such as Lou Marini and Stefan Karlsson -
and a Master's degree from the venerable Boston Conservatory, Tracy
is an accomplished flutist. In her former life, she performed on
flute and piccolo regularly with the Cape Cod Symphony, New England
Philharmonic, and Irving (Texas) Symphony Orchestras, among others.
Add her impeccable songwriting, arranging and production talents to
the mix and it is easy to see why she is an established musician’s
musician in her native Detroit, where she currently lives, as well
as in her previous hometown, New York City.
Thomas's music represents the variety of genres in which she has
shown she can comfortably and brilliantly immerse herself, including
swing, Latin jazz, R&B/soul, and roots rock. This unique
variety thrills live audiences as well as her growing radio
following.
Tracy won the 2009 Detroit Music Award for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist
and has been nominated for numerous others including Outstanding
Jazz Composer, Modern Jazz Band, Jazz Instrumentalist (piano), R&B
Composer, R&B Vocalist, and Outstanding Jazz Album for her 2006
release, There and Back Again. Ian Anderson, of Jethro Tull
fame, enamored of her classical bent and rock sensibility, invited
her on stage as a guest flutist at his 2003 State Theater concert.
Likewise, renowned folk-jazz singer/songwriter Tom Prasada-Rao
invited Tracy to join him on flute/vocals during his 2009 Harbor
Springs, Michigan concert. Her song entitled "Home" can be
heard on the CD ROM, which accompanies The Complete Idiot's Guide
to MP3. Her extensive media exposure in New York and Detroit
includes the nationally broadcast Mitch Albom Show, WVMV, Detroit’s
smooth jazz station, WHFR, 107.1 Ann Arbor, and numerous internet
radio outlets. She has done considerable radio jingle work
nationwide.
Every
time Luke Sayers steps onto a stage to perform for an appreciative
audience he is realizing the purpose for which he was put on earth.
After hearing Luke’s latest CD Radio Flower, Rich Albertoni of
Madison, Wisconsin’s Isthmus echoed this sentiment when he wrote
“Sayers sounds like a songwriter who's found his musical calling.“
The passion for performing and "an unmistakable heartfelt sincerity"
(Illinois Entertainer) that come from heeding his calling are
obvious to anyone who has been at one of Luke’s live shows. A full
range of emotion is expressed during each performance with Luke’s
"powerful, passionate voice” (Martin Bandyke) excitedly stirring the
souls of the audience one minute, while in the next “songs such as
Delaying Disaster and The Letter amble along on the singer's
comforting voice and delicate strumming” (The Chicago Tribune).

“In this age of voices made 'pretty'
with lots of sound effects and machinery, Tracy Kash stands out
as "real". Lush vocals, intriguing lyrics, and a jazzy beat,
Kash is one to be listened to as a true talent.” - Karen E.
Reynolds, Writer's Block, WDVX, Clinton, TN
“Tracy Kash honestly has one of the most fantastic voices I've
heard in a long time. The songwriting is first class...indie
stuff at its finest.” - Jodi Krangle, Muse’s Muse
"Sonorous acoustic folk-rock doesn't
get much better than what ...Luke Sayers generates on his latest
CD (Radio Flower). The duet "Bitter Wine," with singer Jill Jack
and guest Pat Shanley on guitar, sizzles with rare electricity.
The Detroit Music Awards nominee knows how to write and sing;
hear it for yourself" - mlive.com |
