Gemini

"Those Were the
Days," a show
featuring folk songs
of the 1960's folk
revival. Gemini,
twin brothers San
and Laz Slomovits,
nationally known for
their music for
children and
families, return to
the roots of their
music — the classic
songs of Pete
Seeger, Bob Dylan,
Peter, Paul and
Mary, Simon and
Garfunkel, etc. as
well as traditional
songs associated
with the 60's.
Come hear songs like
"If I Had a Hammer,"
"Blowing in the
Wind," "Puff the
Magic Dragon" — and
sing along with
them! Since the year
2010 is the Golden
Anniversary of the
start of the 60's
(wow! has it really
been 50 years?) and
this is the music
San and Laz grew up
on, they've put
together a tribute /
celebration concert
with these
quintessential
songs.
In addition to these
songs, San and Laz
will also perform
some of their
original songs in
this same style, as
well as their
musical settings of
poetry — ranging
from the 13th and
14th Century Persian
mystics, Rumi and
Hafiz, to American
poets such as Robert
Frost and William
Stafford.

"Gemini charmed both adults and
children. It was a measure of Gemini's ability that the constant
involvement of the audience, vocally and visually, detracted not at all
from the performer's role."
– The Toronto Globe and Mail
"If the Pied Piper had been twins, odds are
he would have been Gemini."
– The Detroit News |
