Dave Boutette, Chris McCall and Carolyn Striho

Dave Boutette’s Midwest is full of passion, humor and shakey grace. Influenced by songwriters that span from Chuck Berry to Paul Westerberg, he documents the trips and triumphs of life between the coasts. Before stepping out on his own, Boutette spent ten years with the Detroit-based alterna-rock bar kings The Junk Monkeys. The band toured the nation relentlessly, supporting acts such as the Goo Goo Dolls and Hootie and the Blowfish, while recording under the Warner Bros./Metal Blade label from 1990-93.
Dave's latest CD is called "The Piccolo Heart."

Carolyn was honored with 7 Detroit Music Award nominations in 2009.  The Detroit singer/songwriter is highly respected in the world music community.  Carolyn features great shows w/exciting energy matched w/catchy songs & poetic passion.

Her New CD "Honesty" just released in November, 2009, is already garnering much buzz in the Detroit area and in Europe-Carolyn and band hope to again go back for another tour in 2010.

With her strong musical life, Carolyn's recent music is her strongest.  Pursuing her next U.S.& European tours, Carolyn's background includes shows in London U.K.,Toronto, Lollapalooza w/Patti Smith, Rome and Frascati, Italy, Osaka, Japan, Festivals, Clubs,& a stellar catalog of music.   Carolyn has worked w Patti Smith, Luis Resto(Eminem),David McMurray(Kid Rock), and Steve Earle in London.  But it's Carolyn's unusual piano and guitar playing, coupled with her strong voice and vocal imagery, hooks and melody, that compel and invite the listener to want more.

Chris McCall is that rare combination of vulnerability, power and humor.  Her latest CD showcases all three of those along with a set of vocal chords that are equal measure kitten-whisker gentle and baton-down-the-hatches tough.  She effortlessly transforms the classic love song into something full of wonder and wickedness; something undeniably pure.

Chris comes by her talent honestly: her mother is a church organist and choir director, while her father sang with the likes of Sammy Davis Jr. and Jerry Lewis.  Performing at an early age, Chris appeared on Star Search, twice in the semi-finals.  This paved the way for future accolades and awards from her hometown of Detroit, a city not known for easy praise because of its deep pocket of talent.  By the time she was in her early 20's Chris was sharing the stage with Allen Ginsberg, Phillip Glass and Patti Smith.  When Ginsberg died in 1997, she was asked to perform at his memorial along with Natalie Merchant and Patti Smith.

She has performed in various groups around Detroit including Thunderharp Choir, Jugglers and Thieves, Swamp Beggars and Blue School.

"Boutette’s genial temperament and taste make each song durable, and he baits his hooks like a Zen trout fishing master.” - Bruce Martin, Ann Arbor News

"With a voice as supple and expressive as Nancy Griffith's, as versatile as Ronstadt's and with a timbre as rich and mellow as Kim Richey's, Chris McCall can flat out sing." - The Music Paper

"'Is This Me?' is exceptionally good! The internationally renowned artist's voice is warm, rich, idiosyncratic & eccentric.  'Tiara' opens on violin, mournful, melodically beautiful 'Ocean' is cool trippiness/chanting- Enchante" w/gypsies, tramps &  thieves.  Want more from the Motor City maven!"   Bill Holdship, Metro Times
