Clowns, puppets, improv, mime, funny accents & hat-swapping,
It’s all for fun in a delightful production of “A Christmas
Carol” December 4 – 20, at Trinity House Theatre in Livonia.
This is a fast-paced, hilarious treatment of an all time Holiday
favorite sure to please the young, the old, and everyone in need
of a little Christmas Spirit.
This adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ classic by Doris Baizley,
is a show-within-a-show zany romp where a rag-tag company of
players portray numerous characters, portray various props, and
generally run amok bursting with Christmas spirit. The troupe
soon discovers that the actors playing Scrooge and Tiny Tim have
abandoned the tour; but the show must go on, and the prop boy
eagerly volunteers for the part of Tim while the cynical stage
manager must be forcibly drafted to play the old miser. He
unwillingly transforms into the miser and journeys through the
tale the Christmas Spirits work their magic, a Trio of Clowns
play numerous props, and the overly-enthusiastic company finally
suck Scrooge (and the Stage Manager) into their happy Christmas
world. . “It’s a hilarious marathon,” comments Director, Rob
Papineau “these actors leap from one character to the next.”
“A Christmas Carol” plays Fridays &
Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm, December 4-20, at Trinity
House Theatre, 38840 6 Mile Rd., in Livonia, just west of
