David
Manchel w/ Roy Scoutz
David
Manchel has played bass for a number of artists in the Detroit area.
On his first solo CD, “Welcome Back to the Same Old Me,” he
takes us back to the sounds of The Kinks and The Who.
The CD has picked up praise from the Metro Times and airplay on
local radio stations, and has been featured on NPR’s Open Mic
series.
His song One Fell Swoop was featured in the Martin Lawrence
movie, Big Momma's House 2. He's also had songs purchased for
major commercial use including by Burberry Clothing Company. His
songs are also available through major publishing companies in New
York and LA.
He is currently playing with a band called Ask Alice and is working on
his second full length CD. Don't miss this chance to see him
perform with his three piece band.
Roy
Scoutz has been playing the guitar for almost 40 years. His
instrumental CDs feature his own originals that showcase his
composing, arranging and masterful playing. His musical approach
reflects his admiration for Pop, Classical, Jazz, Folk and World
music. About 10 years ago the acoustic guitar became his main
instrument of expression and he has written and arranged originals and
covers alike for guitar. Originally from the west coast Roy has been
living in Michigan for the last 8 years. You may have heard him at one
of the local art shows or festivals throughout the state. Roy has also
performed in New Zealand, England, Portugal and Italy.
He has played along side Willie Nelson, The Mighty Clouds of
Joy and Members of Earth Wind and Fire.

"See,
as it turns out, this guy David Manchel is a student of great
songwriters, a student of great songs. So much so that he approaches
both with a careful eye and considerate sense of time and place." –
