Ralston
Bowles and Marvin Etzioni
Ralston Bowles is a fixture in the Grand Rapids music scene. He takes time to encourage a number of the up-and-coming singer/songwriters in the West Michigan area by hosting open mic nights and house concerts.
. He has shared the stage with T-Bone Burnett, the Hot House Flowers, and Richard Buckner among many others.
He filled in for Shawn Colvin at Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater in Grand Rapids. Shawn was stuck in Chicago due to severe weather and was trying to get to town by car. Ralston was called to start the show until Shawn could arrive. She was unable to make it due to traffic but the crowd was treated to Ralston's wonderful music. According to the Grand Rapids Press he "received a standing ovation after his set."
His
first CD "Carwreck Conversations", is produced by Marvin Etzioni.
Brooklyn-born, LA-raised singer-songwriter- producer Marvin Etzioni's resume reads like a virtual "who's who" of Los Angeles-oriented pop-rock. He is the founding member of local '80s cow punk band Lone Justice. Marvin is also an in-demand producer, having worked with Counting Crows, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Peter Case, and Mike Ireland, to name a few. Marvin has released three solo albums for Restless Records.

“One
of West Michigan’s best singer/ songwriters” - The Grand
Rapids Press
"Carwreck Conversations,
Ralston Bowles' debut, is a mature, thoughtful portrait of age,
youth, and the place "where dreams and truth collide."
Along the way he aims more questions inward than at the outside
world, without ever falling prey to easy rationalizations or
self-pity." - All Music Guide
