Alex
and Naomi Anest
w/
Heidi Snyder
Trinity House is pleased to welcome Alex and Naomi Anest back for a
second performance. Fans of the group Delta 88 will know Alex for his
outstanding guitar playing for the band. Naomi's beautiful voice is
the perfect instrument for their original music and well-chosen
covers. After
hearing them perform you'll join us in wondering why they don't
perform more often.
The first thing you'll notice about Heidi's music is her voice, a
powerful, three octave instrument melded with a warm, silvery clarity
that can spring from pure and delicate to raw and passionate. Next,
you will notice her rich melodic sense and her arrangements that blend
jazz scales with the evocative minor modes of folk and the tunefulness
of pop. She wraps it all in the sonic depth of modern classical and
"new" music. Cello lines dance with the autumnal piano phrases
or leap and lunge when
things get more rhythmic. Heidi got her start as the bassist for
the Blue Sun String Quintet, an all
women jazz, classical and free improvisation group that played
throughout the area from 1989-1993. The group won a Detroit Music
Award in 1992 for
Best Classical Group.

"With the release
of her debut CD, Listening, you can add vocalist- composer Heidi
Snyder to that history of original and diverse talents... If
thoughtful, poetic and complex music is something that moves
you then Listening is not to be missed."
