Delta
88 with Barzin
Delta 88 has quickly developed a reputation throughout the Midwest for
their fresh approach to Americana. They've performed in some of the
finest venues including The Ark (Ann Arbor), Southgate House (Newport,
Kentucky), and Schubas (Chicago). Their exceptional musicianship
shines in the intimate setting of Trinity House.
Their first CD gained international acclaim with airplay in America,
Europe and Australia. Spanish magazine Jambalaya praised the records
"relaxed atmosphere and delicate textures, almost unknown in the world
of American roots music." They're currently working on their second
studio release with artist/producer Joe Henry. They've recorded four
songs and are searching for label support to help finish the album.
Slow and melancholic, introspective and confessional: These words in
some ways describe the sound of Barzin. A project that began sometime
in 1995, Barzin was a solo endeavor at its inception. But somewhere
along the way it shed its solitary skin allowing a wide array of
characters into it's sound. the sound of the music has continued to
remain true to the esthetics of quietness and minimalism. It still
concerns itself with exploring the quiet side of pop. In 2003, the
album that was self released by Barzin the previous year was picked up
and re-released by Ocean Music and Where Are My Records.

"An excellent,
soulfully refined trio, who paint a different picture of
roots music by mining the soul of classic folk and country." |
